For those of you who love and collect Mary’s art, Mary decided to share some of her favorite places in the Hawaiian Islands. She will add places from time to time. If you visit the Islands be sure and visit these places when you can. Also if you are a collector of Mary’s art, be sure and visit one of the Kahn Galleries on Kauai or Dick Sargent’s Fine Art Gallery on Maui (Lahaina). If you are going to be on Kauai ask one of the art consultants to contact Mary or Bruce and ask if you can visit Mary’s Fairy Garden on Kauai.

Be sure and look for Fairies and Menehune’s when you visit these places, because Mary has seen them there!

bulletReeds Island in Hilo on the Big Island
This is Mary and Bruce’s favorite get-away. There is a vacation rental at the end of the road on Reed’s Island that is just spectacular. The place is situated on the Wailuku River and overlooks a wonderful waterfall. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home with all amenities, and is very reasonably priced. Bruce’s college friend owns it and we love to go there when we can get away from the studio.
Go to www.reedsisland.com for complete information. You will love it.

bulletMahaulepu Beach on Kauai’s south shore
This is Mary’s favorite beach. The keiki (child) pool at the east end of this beach is where Mary got the inspiration for her mermaid pictures. It is a great place to have a picnic lunch because the ironwood trees overhang the beach giving shade. Walking along the cliffs beyond the east end of this beach is also very scenic.

bulletSunday Brunch at the Princeville hotel on Kauai’s north shore
Be sure and request a balcony (outside) table. The view of the Bali Hai Mountain and waterfalls are just spectacular and the Brunch is exquisite. Walk around the hotel and its scenic ocean overlooks. It is quite wonderful.
