In the gardens of the Enchanted Island there grow flowers unlike any others. Each morning with the first rays of sunlight they are visited by a butterfly with wings of gold. As he dances joyfully over the dew-spangled buds he chooses only the most beautiful. With his touch the rosy petals unfurl to disclose the spirit of that flower, asleep in it's golden heart. As the little fairy awakens she looks up to thank the butterfly. They bow in recognition and a new day begins on the Enchanted Island.

Note from the Artist: "As much as I loved "The Enchanted Flower" painting, I wanted to present a fairy all of us brown-haired people could have for our own. This wee thing was the answer, the model being just a "regular kid." How could I help but fall in love with this earnest, angelic, freckled face? That she was our only granddaughter had absolutely nothing to do with it!"
